The oil is also said to help protect against UV rays as the high proportion of mono-saturated fats provide a protective layer over the hair providing some natural sun protection.
Avocados (Persea gratissima, Persea americana) are the fruit of a subtropical tree, native to Mexico and South America. Cold-pressing the flesh of the avocado fruit makes avocado oil. It takes around ten fruits to produce one teaspoon of this rich nourishing oil.
