How to get perfectly defined curls is something we all want to know. There are a few different tricks we can try, and one of these is the Finger Coiling method. Finger coiling creates long-lasting definition and it also helps smooth frizz.

The first step is to wash and condition with our gorgeous curl-friendly Cleanser and Conditioner. After this, apply the Hydrating Curl Creme to soaking wet hair to lock in moisture and smooth frizz. This means your curls will be in the best condition possible before styling. Now it’s time to twist those lovely curls into shape!

You can either finger coil each curl clump if you have time, or focus on the areas that you want to define more, like the face-framing pieces.

The Finger Coiling Method

  • After applying the Hydrating Creme, coil the curl clump tightly around your index finger and then release. Repeat this on the next curl clump.

  • After finger coiling, scrunch in either our Enhancing Gel or Mega Hold Gel so the curls hold their shape and maintain that lovely definition.

  • Gently scrunch the hair with our Microfibre Towel to remove excess water and encourage the curls to bounce up.

  • Diffuse or air-dry to finish.

If your curls feel slightly crispy when dry, simply "scrunch out the crunch" for gorgeous soft and defined curls. You can gently separate any thick curl clumps, finger coiling or twisting them as you do so to maintain their shape.

Do you struggle with curls that lack definition and staying power? Finger coiling could be the answer you’ve been looking for to create long-lasting, defined curls.
